UNDERSTANDING FASD MAKES A DIFFERENCE

For SWMetro staff & member districts. It is estimated that as many as one in 20 U.S. children has a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). FASD is a medical condition that encompasses a wide range of physical, neurobehavioral, and cognitive symptoms associated with prenatal alcohol exposure. This presentation will provide an overview of the basics of FASD, discuss common traits and behaviors associated with prenatal alcohol exposure, and how those symptoms may cause challenges for children and adolescents with an FASD, as well as, for professionals supporting them. Lastly, we will explore interventions and strategies to effectively support students on the fetal alcohol spectrum to promote successful outcomes.

What are the conflict and work styles based on cultural responses and norms.
