We are excited to announce that SouthWest Metro Intermediate District 288 will be hosting programs in a new location beginning Tuesday, September 7th. The new Dean Lakes Education Center at 4601 Dean Lakes Boulevard in Shakopee will have newly built classrooms and specially designed spaces for students attending Special Education, Day Treatment, Adult Education, and Career and Technical programs.
Students in the following programs will have classes at Dean Lakes Education Center:
- Special Education
- LinC
- Oasis
- Transitions
- Day Treatment
- Reflections
- Adult Education
- GED Preparation
- English as a Learned Language
- Other specialty career & language classes
- Some Career & Technical Education
- Computer Careers
- Criminal Justice
- Drone Technology
- Intro to Education
- Medical Assisting
- Multimedia: Photography, Audio/Video, Graphic Design
- Outdoor Power Equipment
The services we provide will remain the same that you and your student are familiar with. We are excited to expand work-based learning opportunities for all programs by partnering with small businesses and the district office, which will also be at the new site.
The school day schedule will remain the same based on your program. As with the beginning of every school year, you will hear from your transportation agency regarding any changes to pickup or dropoff times for your student.
