The Carver County Board of Commissioners approved a new “Closing the Digital Divide” program that gives eligible families one laptop device per household using Federal funding from the Coronavirus Aide, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. 

The program, which plans to purchase 160 laptop devices, goes to qualified Carver County residents and families. Residents must demonstrate a need due to COVID-19 to receive a device. They’re available on a first-come, first-serve basis before November 1, 2020. 

To view eligibility requirements and obtain an application, visit the Carver County Income Support website or access the application directly. Paper applications can be picked up in person at the Carver County Government Center, 602 East 4th Street, Chaska, MN 55318.
