Students' building containers The Backstretch Community Garden Club Applications are open! 

The purpose of the Backstretch Community Garden Club is to strengthen the community through shared gardening experiences, providing learning opportunities for students, grow produce for food donations, while maintaining assigned and community growing spaces located on the property. 


Applications for 2020 garden plots (approx. 4’x4’ and 4’x8’) can be made using the Application Form. The cost for a garden plots is $15 for a 4’x4’ plot or $30 for a 4’x8’ plot. Scholarships for a % of the plot fee are available by request. If there are still open garden plots, late sign up may be available.

Garden plots are open to all Scott County residents 18 years of age and older and/or employees or clients of organizations within Scott County on a first come, first served basis. Interested applicants that do not live or work in Scott County may apply, but will receive garden plots only if there are vacant plots available. All interested gardeners to the Backstretch Community Garden Club MUST submit a completed, signed Application, Skill Inventory and Interest Survey, and all required fees to:
