Everyone deserves a tasty, healthy breakfast, but not all of us have time in the morning to really dedicate to preparing a full meal. How do we solve this? Overnight Oatmeal!

Over the past few weeks, our Professional Development Specialist Joy Whitehead has been traveling to different sites to give staff an opportunity to try out this delicious and easy meal for themselves and to share the recipe with students. If you are a staff member that missed the DIY Pop-Up or a parent or student that wants to give it a try, you can find the recipe below.

HOW TO MAKE OVERNIGHT OATS

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 banana, sliced
1 TBSP chia seeds
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
Optional: sweetener (protein powder, yogurt, maple syrup, etc) and/or berries or fruit for flavor

1 jar with lid (approximately 8 -10 oz capacity)


INSTRUCTIONS:

Layer dry ingredients:
- Oats
- [Optional Sweetener]
- Chia Seeds
- Banana
- [Optional Berries or Fruit]

Add milk.

Cover mixture tightly with lid.

Shake until thoroughly combined.

Refrigerate overnight.

Add any additional desired toppings (nuts, seeds, fruit, etc).

Enjoy!
