Hello, my name is Jamie Lukas. I am the educator at the Passageways shelter in Prior Lake. Previously, I taught kindergarten for 10 years in northern Minnesota where I lived most all of my adult life. I earned my teaching degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Teaching is my second passion in life. My daughter, Morgan, is my first undoubtedly! She turned 18 this year and graduated. She continues to live in northern Minnesota and plans to attend college next fall.

Being active is my favorite pastime. I enjoy walking, rollerblading, kayaking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing - basically anything outside no matter the season. This summer I went white water rafting for the first time. It was extremely scary to contemplate but in the end I stayed in the raft (thank goodness) and had a great time! I definitely would like to do it again. I like to cook. Chicken wild rice soup and dessert breads are my favorite to make. I love the Vikings; win or lose. SKOL!

I am looking forward to this new adventure in teaching. SWMetro has been very welcoming and I anticipate a great school year!
