Five YouthBuild students poke their heads out of the storage room they built at East Creek Family Center.Gary Dohse's YouthBuild program recently completed a storage renovation project at East Creek Family Center in Chaska. In addition to building a storage room, the students also built a wall enclosing an area under the grand staircase in the entry space of the building. The wall is painted with "dry erase" paint, making the entire surface an area for creative collaboration.

In addition to creating a functional space for ECFC staff and students, the YouthBuilders had to follow standard protocol for the project - including permit application, following building codes & ADA compliance, and passing inspection.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 1st, the inspector from the city of Chaska met with the students and spoke to them about his job and the importance of creating good relationships with the community and clients. He did a formal inspection of the project and passed it with confidence.

Great job to the YouthBuild students for completing a great task!
